Sophos hardware graveyard gets bigger with SFOS v20 MR1
It feels like there have never been so many hardware End-of-Lifes as in the past and coming months.
- Sophos RED 15(w) and RED 50 are End-of-Life since 31.08.2023
- Sophos AP series Access Points went End-of-Life at the end of 2023
- Sophos XG series firewalls will become hardware scrap at the end of March 2025
- Sophos APX Access Points are due at the end of 2027

RED 15 and RED 50 are deactivated by SFOS v20 MR1
The End-of-Life date for Sophos RED 15(w) and RED 50 was 31.08.2023. So far, however, the REDs have continued to work. However, after installing SFOS v20 MR1, the REDs no longer connect.
With this new version, support for the End-of-Life (EOL) devices RED 15, RED 15w and RED 50 will be discontinued.
Anyone still using these outdated devices must switch to the new SD-RED 20 or SD-RED 60 models before upgrading to v20 MR1.
